Lovely, Lively and Local: A Review of The Bristolian

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Cheltenham Road and Stokes Croft, The Bristolian café and bistro is another of Bristol’s quirky independent gems. After re-opening for business in late 2012, the 3 new owners have transformed the charming café back to its former glory.

Arguably servers of the finest breakfast in the city, all are made from free range produce only. Served from 8am to 3pm, there is plenty of time for you early birds and late starters to indulge. There are options for everyone, with tasty vegetarian and vegan options available too. You’ll have a spring in your step after a taste of their locally roasted coffee beans. But do not fear tea lovers, The Bristolian have over 20 types of tea for you to try.

You’re greeted with a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with the café and bistro’s unique décor creating a character filled ambience that is not to be missed. Their prices are slightly more than your standard run-of-the-mill café, but it is worth it for the quality food and drink, speedy service and friendly staff.

From salads to scrumptious homemade cakes that are produced daily, that’s just the beginning of their menu. For lunch and dinnertimes their bistro style selection includes delicious delights ranging from quesadillas and bruschetta to burgers and tapas. Allow yourself a tasty treat and enjoy their Bristolian mess or another of their evening puddings. Priding themselves on quality produce, they also serve a carefully selection of wines, local ciders and beers.

Whether you’re looking for a place for a romantic dinner for two, brunch with friends or to spend a lazy Sunday, The Bristolian might just be what you have been wanting all along.
