Remember that sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you check your bank account and you see that the majority of your loan has been spent on nights out, clothing and stuff you barely even remember buying? Me too. I think that there is a general consensus within UWE that we all know this feeling too well.
It would be stupid to assume that students don’t spend almost half of their student loans on takeaways/eating out, I mean what could be better than munching on a delicious chicken mayo burger whilst you are hungover and feeling very sorry for yourself? I don’t think anything in the world quite compares in the same way.
So, if you’re a student on a budget who loves tasty but cheap food then keep reading for my top 5 cheap places to eat out in Bristol.

The restaurant offers an early bird menu that you wouldn’t want to miss! For £10 you get either dry aged rump steak or Cowshed’s prime beef burger, both served with skinny fries and a glass of house wine or lager! Imagine knocking back a few glasses of wine with your housemates after a long, busy day in the library, in a relaxed, upbeat setting.
With two food awards behind their belt, it can be said that The Canteen is the bee’s knees in Bristol! Their menu includes a range of vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options. The Canteen is one of Bristol’s most vibrant meeting places as it is situated amongst the lively Stokes Croft area. Prices at this quirky setting range from £5-£10 and include free soup and crusty bread too! Not to mention, this non-profit community also hosts live music from many local, creative geniuses.
