2019 Students’ Union By-elections: What You Need to Know

It’s that time of year: the Students’ Union by-elections have rolled around again. Here is everything you could want to know about this year’s vote.

When does voting open?  

Voting officially opens on Monday 21st October at 10am. 

When does voting close?

Voting officially closes on Friday 25th October at 4pm. Any votes cast after then will not be counted.

When are the winners announced?

The results are announced also on Friday 25th October at 7pm in Union 1 Upper Engagement Space.

How do I vote?

To vote, you must go through the Students’ Union Website and use the link thestudentsunion.co.uk/VOTE

Who should I vote for?

There are six categories to vote for and the candidates for each are as follow:

Disabled Students Officer

  • Dave Butler

LGBT+ Officer

  • Ayrden Pocock
  • Liam Reymond

Women’s Welfare Officer

  • Ahornish Ahona

Democratic Procedures Officer

Only three positions available.

  • Ayrden Pocock
  • Christian Calditaran
  • Derya Khalilpour
  • Jack Brackstone
  • Molly Russell

NUS National Conference Delegate

Seven positions are available, three are reserved.
